Here at Dakota Duns Quarter Horses, we mainly sell our annual production of foals as weanlings, but we do on occasion have other horses available. You will find them here on this page. As with any sale, vet checks are recommended and can be arranged at the buyer's expense. If the horse purchased is leaving the state of South Dakota, the buyer will also need to cover the expense of a coggins test and a health certificate. This Dudes Bad "Badger" has been our program's senior breeding stallion since 2015. It hurts to list him up for sale, but we kept back a young son of his to bring up into the breeding pastures. Badger has sired over 85, amazing foals for us since 2016! We have a waiting list and many repeat buyers for his foals. He can only sire black-based, dun foals. He throws his cream and dominant white genes 50% of the time in theory, but it seems like most of his offspring do have very minimal to very expressive white markings and a cream gene more times than not. These foals are very short-backed, with thick legs, compact, and built like the original "bulldog" American Quarter Horses. They have beautiful heads that are wide between the eyes, with big jowls, small, foxy ears, and a small muzzle. They are simply gorgeous! They are easy for a novice to work with and train. They give you 100%! These foals think before they react, and want to give you the right answer every time! They love their owners and will do anything that you ask them to do. Our family will definitely miss having his foals in our pastures and getting them ready for their future homes.

We did move cows home on him a few times, trail rode him, and hauled him to the stock show twice for "Stallion Row" to showcase him in the Rapid City, SD area. He is always very well behaved! Badger lives with 6 other stallions when he is not in the breeding pasture. They share a 100 acre pasture and enjoys each other's company. She has a delightful personality, steady as a rock. She is great for the farrier, easy to catch, loads without hesitation. Travels large acreage pasture without a hitch! " Reagan" is a very quiet, sweet, nicely built, registered filly. She is pasture raised on big prairie in South Dakota. She is healthy, smart, sure-footed, and sane. She is a beautiful mover! She has good feet and no blemishes. I have registered her as breeding stock. She does carry a copy of LP by parentage. She may varnish over time. She is parentage verified. Don't let "Blue's" age fool you! This mare is in as good of shape as any 10 year old broodmare! She will give you another few foals yet. Blue is handy broke, and was used on the ranch for many years. She was entered into the broodmare band in 2022. Since then, she has produced two great looking colts for us: a black splash colt in 2022 sired by Kros Casino Cash, and a grulla colt in 2024 sired by Cowboys Son Dun It. She is bred to Genuine Silvernic for a May 2025 foal. Blue has not been rode again since having foals and would require a confident, experienced rider if used as a saddle horse again. She has great ground manners and is very easy to handle, but does not like to be caught! She will have to be sorted into a smaller pen to catch.
